Hobson First Grade
Last year, leading into the school year, I found a few dog toys that were related to school starting and couldn't help but think how much fun it would be to pretend like Hobson was starting school since he was 5 last year. So many that I know have had kids start school with their "first day" message boards, that I felt like I could join in to make people smile.
This year, it was the same, but needed even more so to make people smile.
Someone asked, "does he really just pose like that?" Yes, he does. Hobson has been a good poser since we brought him home. He doesn't like when you are on your phone and prefers your hands are petting him, however, he is all for posing for the camera. As someone that has been taking photos for years, you snap even when people aren't posing, and the same is for dogs. I snap and search later, and usually find some of the keepers in images that I didn't even realize that I got, like above with his nose in the air taking in the Texas August breeze or a quick lick of the lips when snapping some images of "lunch."
Since I knew everyone was starting remote here in Texas, I didn't go to the school to take some images (but don't worry, I will probably still do that when school actually starts at the schools), but I took pics outside the front door, like many parents. I told Hobson that we were going to take some pics of school starting, and the images that I got of the countdown were perfection. Two days out, he didn't really seem to understand what we were getting ready for, but 1 day out, and it was like he read the sign and fully understood what it was saying. When we got ready for school, he was so excited to put his Reddy backpack on and show it off. I know most will not understand the love that I have for Hobson and that others might not take advantage of something like "first day of school photos" with a dog, but I am not most. I talk to Hobson like he is a human most of the time, and we would take him shopping wherever we could, but I also will talk to friends kids like they are adults. We talk & communicate because if you talk to a kid in that manner, you can have the most fun conversations. You can call me crazy, you can tell me that it doesn't make sense to you, but you can also see how much fun I have in my life and what I do have vs the human children that I don't have. Enjoy life and what you have because those moments don't last forever.
