Sweet Tooth Sweeties
Over the years, in my day job, we have dressed up for Halloween. The company has had an annual party to celebrate the employees on Halloween, and it is suggested that we dress up. When I started, it was brought to my attention that we dress as a group, and try to come up with more unique ideas each year. For 2018, Karen had found some cute dessert costumes, like ice cream, ring pops, and rock candy and determined that we would all be sweet(ie)s!
Next was figuring out what each person would come as; (left to right in center pic) Karen picked an ice cream cone, Lisa picked frosted animal crackers, Lauren was bubblehgum, Maxine was a bubblegum dispenser, I was cotton candy, and Danielle picked a pink Starbucks frappe.
Karen's creation
a white long sleeve tee that we loop stitched multi-colored pipe cleaners for sprinkles.
a tan tulle skirt that we loop stitched ribbon on to create a waffle cone effect
her fascinator was a cherry on top made from a red Christmas ornament, green felt & pipe cleaner
Lisa's creation
purchased a cute pink sheath dress and loop stitched multi-colored pom poms all over the front of it
her fascinator was pink felt ears with more multi-colored pom poms
Lauren's creation
purchased a light pink jersey dress, added balloons & lettering
her fascinator was made of some pink tulle & silver fabric that looks like bubble gum wrapper
Maxine's creation
she had a dress that she was excited to glue all the pom poms to the top of to look like a gum ball dispenser
her fascinator I used a little white tulle with some red felt to look like the top of the dispenser
Sara's creation
I bought a BUNCH of pink tulle in different colors and created something like a dress/vest that had a cinched elastic waist
fascinator made out of pink tulle and a metallic cone
Danielle's creation
she got a pink tulle maxi skirt that we didn't have to do anything to, and a white tee that I helped her create a felt drink name (like how they would write her name on a drink), the markers down the side that we loop stitched on and cut out a green felt Starbucks label
I had white frilly fabric that I made into a scarf for her outfit so that she looked like she as topped off with whip cream like the drink
her fascinator we took a Starbucks straw & drink lid, and studded some white tulle in the lid
This was probably one of the most fun, and actually though I made the fascinators and helped with a lot of the sewn on details, one of the quickest themed costumes that had been a part of. It wasn't as well received in the competition that we entered for group, however, I think we all had so much fun and loved being sweeties for the day.
Now I have to figure out how I can wear my pink tulle dress/vest again!
